Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information SomerQuant collects when you visit somerquant.com, subscribe to its editions or contact it, how that information is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is written to be read in a few minutes.

Who we are

SomerQuant is a publication of AZTMM HLDGS LLC. AZTMM HLDGS LLC is the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy. SomerQuant publishes impersonal, end-of-day market-structure research and education on a fixed schedule. It is research, not advice, and it does not manage money for anyone.

What we collect

Email subscription. When you subscribe, we collect your email address and record your subscription status: which editions you receive, whether your subscription is confirmed, and whether you have unsubscribed. Subscriptions are handled by the WordPress.com and Jetpack newsletter service. The full SomerQuant Daily and SomerQuant Weekly, and their archive, can be read with a free subscription, so the site also checks whether a signed-in visitor is a subscriber in order to show the full edition.

Earlier subscribers. A small number of addresses collected through an earlier MailPoet form are held on the site, with the name if one was given. They are not currently emailed. They will either be moved to the WordPress.com subscriber list with the subscriber’s confirmation, or deleted.

Waitlist. One paid tier, Desk, is planned and is not on sale. No payment is taken and no payment details are collected. There is no waitlist form on the site at present. If one opens, this policy will be updated before it collects anything.

Comments. Where comments are open on a post, the comment form asks for your name and email address and, optionally, a website. We keep what you submit, together with your IP address and browser details, which are used to detect spam. Comments are checked by Akismet, an Automattic spam-filtering service. The form also lets you ask to be notified of replies, in which case we keep your email address for that purpose. An anonymised string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to show a profile picture; Gravatar is operated by Automattic.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message, your email address and anything else you choose to include.

Visit statistics and server logs. Like most websites, the servers that host somerquant.com record technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use WordPress.com Stats, provided through Jetpack, and no other analytics service, to see which pages are read and how visitors arrive. This gives us aggregated figures such as page views, referring sites and approximate country. We do not use these statistics to identify individual readers.

Advertising. Display ads on somerquant.com may be served by WordAds, the advertising service operated by WordPress.com, and its advertising partners. Those partners may use cookies or similar technology to deliver and measure ads, and they present their own consent choices where the law requires it. The ads are display units served by the platform. SomerQuant does not carry sponsored, affiliate or issuer-supplied content. The Free tier carries ads. The planned Desk tier, which is not on sale, would carry none.

Cookies. Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. somerquant.com does not run its own cookie banner. The cookies on the site are set by WordPress.com and Jetpack, to keep you signed in and to count visits through WordPress.com Stats; by the comment system (wpDiscuz), which remembers your name and email for your next comment only if you choose that option; and, where ads are shown, by the WordAds advertising partners described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as reading a subscriber-only edition, may not work without them.

Other services that load with the page. To display the site and its charts, your browser also requests fonts from Google Fonts and published data files from GitHub and the jsDelivr network. Those providers receive your IP address and browser details as part of delivering the files.

We do not ask for, and do not want, information about your finances, holdings or investment circumstances. Please do not send it.

How we use it

We use the information above to send the editions you subscribed to; to give subscribers access to the full editions; to publish and moderate comments and filter spam; to reply to messages; to understand which pages are read so the publication can be improved; to keep the site secure and working; and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your information to give you individual investment advice, and SomerQuant does not provide it.

Email delivery and unsubscribing

Editions are sent by email through the WordPress.com and Jetpack newsletter service. Every subscriber receives the same edition at the same time, and no email is sent before the edition is published on the web. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time with that link, or by contacting us. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending editions to you. The newsletter service may record whether an email was delivered or opened, and we see that information in aggregate.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

We share personal information only with service providers that run parts of the site for us and process it on our behalf. The main one is WordPress.com, operated by Automattic Inc., which hosts the site and provides the newsletter, statistics, comment spam filtering (Akismet), Gravatar and, where it is shown, advertising (WordAds) services. The other services named in this policy receive only the technical information needed to deliver their files or functions.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of SomerQuant, its readers or others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to the information transferred.

How long we keep it

We keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Comments stay on the site until they are deleted at your request or through moderation. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to answer it and for ordinary business records. Visit statistics and server logs are kept according to WordPress.com’s own retention practices.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to give you a copy of it, or to delete it. You can unsubscribe from email at any time. Depending on where you live, data protection laws may give you further rights, such as the right to object to or restrict certain uses of your information, to withdraw consent you have given, or to complain to a data protection authority. Some US state laws give residents similar rights to access, correct and delete their information and to opt out of its sale; we do not sell personal information.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. We may keep information we are required to keep for legal, security or record-keeping reasons.

Children

SomerQuant is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on WordPress.com security, including encrypted connections to the site, and we limit access to subscriber information to the people who run the publication. No website or email service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet.

International transfers

SomerQuant is operated from the United States, and its service providers, including WordPress.com, may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. By using the site or subscribing, you understand that your information will be processed in this way, and we rely on our service providers’ safeguards for any transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use subscriber information, we will also tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
